Pedro Cury - Photographer
Pedro Cury is specialized in mixing natural and artificial light to create action photos. His main assigments are event coverage and mountain biking photoshootings. However, he is often shooting other subjects and styles.
UCI MTB World Championship 2011 (Champéry, Switzerland) and 2008 (Italy), 5 World Cup stages among MTB, Biketrial and BMX, Mountain Biking races in and outside Brasil - some of them working as the official event photographer. He is also fit and skilled to do medium / long distance bike trips.
Event photographer for races in Brazil since 2007. Training coverage for Nike in 2012 and 2013.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, in 1980, Pedro Cury started shooting in 2000 with a 80´s SRL camera. His main motivation was to take good shots for the mountain biking website Pedal.com.br, but ended up getting really interested for photography, specially in positive film.
Two years later, he was one of the winners of Red Bull In Focus, a photo contest for new talents. By this time he could get a lot of contact with professionals.
In 2004, without lefting film away, he started to work with digital cameras and publishing photos inside and outside Brazil.
Four years later he won another photo challenge, the Shimano / Decline magazine contest (February).
In 2009, started to work in Madrid as a staff photographer for the Planeta MTB spanish magazine till 2010. During this time, he has published 10 covers and more than 1.000 photos.
In 2011, did the exposition Mountain Biking 2.8, during the 11a Mostra de Filmes de Montanha (a famous brazilian mountain film festival) in Cine Odeon, Rio de Janeiro. The name 2.8 is a reference for the 8 countries he had shot during the 2 years lived in Europe.
In 2012, besides photoshootings around Brazil, he was nominated to teach a workshop for Latin America Red Bull photographers about Pocket Wizard radio flash system.
In 2013, kept shooting for different clients as event official photographer, some studio work and products / athlets photoshootings.
From 2011 to 2016 was official photographer of Circuito MTB de Favelas, a classic event in Rio slums.
Now he continues to shoot special projects, while managing his side projects Bicicletas Roubadas and Pedal.com.br.
